Boracay Wind Barriers: The Boracay Island Resorts and Hotels that are on the beachfront put up bamboo pools and then put a tarp or covering to block the wind. During Lean Season in Boracay the wind blows a little because of storms and such so to protect guest and property the resort Owners put up the Boracay Wind Barriers. You can see some being placed now.

Tip: If you think the barriers are ugly and you don't like to see the wind barriers don't visit the Island between June 15 and Oct.28. Lean Season is the cheapest time to visit and this is one of the sacrifices and average weather. Wind Barrier construction varies according to weather. You will still have a great time with little inconvenience - I personally like July as the cheap Season Dates - Sun's heat is just right!
