| Sand Castles Boracay Resort was built by local carpenters in 1989. Australian/Pilipino owned, Sand Castles Boracay Retreat is an exquisitely crafted, native-style absolutely beach front resort set in tropical gardens on White Sands Beach. Accommodation consists of 20 large bungalows (cottages) and villas built with local materials and decorated with uncluttered simplicity and taste. Ethnic fabric, bamboo and rattan furnishings, village terra cotta tiles, light shades, pottery, jars and crockery adorn guest rooms and common areas. Screened rooms have ceiling fans and air conditioning; tiled bathrooms have hot water. Cable television, personal refrigerators and lockers available for a fee to long-staying guests in certain rooms. A back to nature ambience with none of the frills, the resort serves as a retreat to weary travelers, or those who simply want to be laid back. The Department of Tourism classifies Sand castles Boracay as 'AA'. |
| Resort Location Sand Castles Boracay is located on the north end of White Sands Beach, 200 meters south of Boat Station 1. (There are 3 boat stations that all visitors must use to get to Caticlan, on Panay, to Boracay Island. Boat Station 3 is on the south part of White Sands Beach, Boat Station 1 is on the North end, with Station 2 equidistant between them.) Don't forget to wear short pants and sandals when you depart Caticlan for Boracay, because you will have to wade ashore from your boat to the beach (there is no jetty port in Boracay). You can get porters to carry you ashore on their shoulders for an agreed fare. Rooms and Accommodation Beach view Villa Suites (2 units- rooms 12 and 15) : Strictly non-smoking fan cooled rooms on the 2nd floor overlooking White Sands Beach-Ideal for family of four-King Size Bed. Garden Villas (7 units) : Choice of Non-Smoking or Smoking Villas , King, Queen or Single Size Beds, Double connecting doors, Air Conditioned rooms. Garden Villas are located within the resort gardens in the back of the resort-some with connecting doors. Standard Bungalow (8 units) : Air-conditioned duplex native cottages with 2 single beds or queen size bed. Single Detached Bungalows (3 units) : For honeymooners-Non-smoking-Ideal for family of four. In the family bungalow (extra bed cost applied over 2 people)-King Size Bed.
